Is it worth the risk?
Last Christmas, I spent a week before Christmas at the Cologne German Christmas markets. It was amazing, we saw plays, music concerts, went to a Lindt chocolate museum, went to a stunning gothic cathedral, ate the best pizza I have ever tasted (strangely in Holland), feasted on traditional icing powdered olliebollen (like pieces of doughnut, dusted), ate glorious gingerbread and bratwurst, travelled across bridges, and saw horses and carraiges in the cobbled streets of a Belgian town. It was delightful, and there were snowflakes and christmas lights to top it all off….magical.

But I have been offered a chance to return this year, with three friends.

There are a few problems with this:

1. I might have school work I will miss during those few days before we break up for Christmas – they might not be so important..

2. I might be tired from doing the School Production of ‘My Fair Lady’ the week before.

3. Last year, it was amazing. But when I returned, Christmas didn’t feel so Christmassy anymore. Is this a sign of growing up? :/

4. I am scared that it won’t be as good as before. The weather, the trips, the scenery. I want to leave on a good note, and this might ruin my memories of Cologne and Aachen forever.

5. It will be different going with the other year group…it would feel so weird.

What would you do in my position?

is this enough food variety for a desert reception?

i went to my caterer today & she keeps giving me different answers, then i saw pictures of some of the events she’d catered & let’s say i was so not impressed, then when she said she’d never done a wedding before, i just canceled her. i live in a rural area so there is no other caterer around here.

but since it’s a desert reception mom said we could make it, i don’t work, i have taken culinary arts & catering classes in the past, my mom, my aunt & my mom’s best friend said they’d help too so this is what i have on the menu

lemon squares
mini strawberry cheesecakes
cookies
belgian mini cream puffs
mini eclairs
mini turtle cheesecake
chocolate brownies truffles
cupcakes (instead of cake)
gourmet brownies

with milk, desert wine, champagne, water & coffee to drink

what do you think? does that work out or do i need more variety,

milk is mainly for the 8 kids that will be there, the adults attending don’t drink pop, they are big coffee drinkers, my parents only drink water, his parents only drink wine & coffee, so we don’t really need soda, beer isn’t a good idea, his brother drinks beer like water.

I am a 27 year old American guy who is in love witha girl in Belgium. Her name is Bellum. I just fell in love with her lovely personality. I met her in America while she was on summer holiday here. Bellum and I have been in a relationship for one year and a half now and we love each other. I have met her parents in Belgium many times. They are acting coldly towards me. Every time I am there they tell me I am too American. Only because I told them that the American chocolate was way better than the Belgian one they started acting very coldly towards me. They also don’t like my clothes. I am following the gothic style. Why do Europeans (especially Belgians) need to be so judgemental? Why do they have to think they are the best in the world? I really want to propose to Bellum. She is the only Belgian who understands me. But she has a very close relationship to her parents. Do I have to endure the ridicule if we marry? Please help me….. What should I do?

But in my experience, quite a few Euro’s are not in the best of health. In fact, they’re quite disgusting to look at.

French: Roly-poly women with big glasses, zits and greezy hair.
Swedes: Jello butts and crooked, yellow teeth. Giant and full of attitude
Italian: Often carry a jelly-roll the way a US male does.
Greek: Droopy boobs…mustaches. Short half-life on looks.
British: Flabby, and indistiguisable from British men (who are mostly effeminate).
Dutch: Chocolate slurping dimwits.
Belgian: Doughy. Short on the breasts.
Polish: Unkempt, hairy and smell of garlic.
Irish: Beer-guzzling lesbos.
Scottish: Wooly, like a 70’s porno.
German: Thick glasses, hairy noses and lesbian tendancies.

This is just my experience.
